New music...

About two to three times a week I will go on the website I go on to download new music it's called hotnewhiphop.com the past few times Iv been on it their hasn't been any new music! I will just go on there and download a mixtape or two each time from top rappers or up and coming rappers. I listen to music with almost everything I do and I don't mind to listening to some older stuff but it's always nice to have a new sound! The most recent mixtape I got off of there is FreeBase by 2chainz it's a good mixtape and has a lot of bass so I really like if cause when I listen to my rap I like a lot of bass in it!!

School Coming To A End

Now that school is ending we don't do anything in school! In most classes all we do is work on our finals review! And because it is the second semester and teachers are just ready for summer even more than students are so they don't feel like giving out a hard final so most of the teachers either aren't giving a final or they are giving a super super easy final! I think out of my six actual class because two are football I think out of my six I only have 3 finals and they are suppose to be super super easy! I'd say we started toning down school work about 3-4 weeks ago and now it's down to about non haha

Snoop Dogg

Today we watched a documentary called "Reincarnated" about snoop dogg making his album in Jamaica! He is a very talented musician, honestly though I don't know how he even functions! He smokes marijuana all the time! It is ridiculous. I don't know how he functions on everyday tasks In this video I don't think I have seen him not smoking one time! Through is documentary I have noticed that smoking in Jamaica is different then the way people do it in America! I'm Jamaica it's like a sacred thing people do and here it is like just something people do!

Cell phone policy

Last class we listened to the Fugees! They were very good and I was going to do a while blog on them but due to our school knew intense phone policy I was not allowed to blog at the end of class and I forgot to when I got home and now it would be as elaborate and detailed. So really this blog is speaking on the topic of how not being able to use our phones in class can actually impair our learning by not being able to use our resources at the tips of our fingers for calculations, scheduling, and research!

How times change

Times change and things change! But today we spoke on musicians disappearing and theaters going away! I don't ever think musicians will go away but I do think theaters will but not anytime soon. Musicians can't disappear because music will always be around to many people enjoy music to have music go away music has been around as long as humans have just in different forms. Theaters will eventually fade away because of all the streaming devices and illegal downloads. I don't think it will happen in my life time because of all the advertising on radio, tv, and enternet people will always be excited and hyped to go seem a new movie.

Testing

Testing!! Wow I feel like in the past 3 days all I have done is test! Yeah Iv only taken two test but on Saturday I took the SAT and today I took the STAAR! I will say the SAT wasn't as strenuous as I thought it would be! I feel like I did pretty good. But Today taking the STAAR! Oh gosh that wasn't very hard since it was US history but it was a lot of stuff we didn't even study! If was a lot of present day stuff and a lot of 2000 and up stuff. Were we spent the whole school year studying stuff dating back go the revolution! But at the end of the day I'm glad that is the only STAAR I have to take this year and I feel like I did good!

Special places

In the movie we watched today one of the biggest  things I noticed that was easy for me to connect to stuff I am greatly involved in is how there can be a special curtain place that produces some type of people! To me that is like athletes! If you think about sports and especially football you think about Texas, Florida, California, and Ohio. Florida and California are known for producing really speedy fast guys! When I think of Florida I think of speedy guys but also the type of football player that just gets after it, that hungry desire. When I think bout Ohio I think if big linebackers! And to me Texas I think about great running backs and secondary players! And massive offensive linemen. That is how I related it to this move where that one place in Alabama would produce so many good musicians when they would go down there.

Flappy Golf

Mother hot game on the App Store! Flappy golf is so much fun!! I just downloaded it this morning in my free time in class. It's so fun it is almost like each level is a obstacle course and you have a limited amount of time to tap the screen to maneuver it through the course and you can make it go up, down, left, and right just by the way you tap on the screen. If you do if in the fewest amount of times listed you get a gold star and the next is a silver and then a bronze.  Once you get to the father levels you can go through things and if displaces you on different parts of the course  and you can get stuck to to the wall making it to where you have to maneuver around stuff

My ACL opinion

I personally don't care about ACL! I know a lot of people love if because of all the music and people that go. I know people have a good time and listen to music all day. But I can't do it. I love music and listen to it all the time but all the people it's just too much for me! All the crowds would make me feel clousterphobic! I don't mind big crowds when I'm not a part of them! Like when I'm playing a sporting even like football or basketball I love having huge crowds watch me but I don't like being a part of them! And a lot of kids do things they shouldn't do while they are there and I can honestly say I have never smoked, don't drink, and have no interest in doing those things and other things kids take part in!

Movie in class

Today we watched a movie called "Art of Rap" it was a very good movie! A lot of people think art is just something you do on paper or sculpt ! But art comes In many different forms. And one they many people wouldn't think to classify as art would be Rap but if you really look at rap and how it is done! Especially back in the day before they had all the different things to work with! They where true vocal artist! To be able to come up with so many similes and metaphors yeah people and sit there and write them down. But to be able to do it on your head and then have them rhymes that is a Art!!!!

2048

2048 is so addicting! For the longest time I thought it was the dumbest game ever you just swiped numbers left, right, up and down just trying to get one that adds up to the number 2048. For the past month all of my friends had been playing it but I never really paid attention to how the where playing it. Today when I was in Bio Tech one of my friends was playing it and I asked them how you played it and they explained it so I downloaded it since it is free, I haven't stopped playing it all day haha. It's do addicting iv yet to beat it but I will soon!! If you enjoy playing games on your phone I suggest it!

What where we listening to

So yesterday in class we listened to this album, the very first song was a song I have heard before. Won't say it is a song I listen to but it is a well known song so I was aware of it when I heard it. The rest of the album was terrible! It was literally just people yelling into the microphone and people just trying to play instruments as loud as they could! I don't get why people enjoy that type of music. I say that but people could ask me the same question about my music. There where times I would zone out and not be hearing it and then I would tune back in and be like oh my gosh what the heck am I listening to!!

Biggie and Pac

Biggie and Pac was a good documentary! It really is a shame they had to get killed over they're rivalry! They started out as great friends but got caught up in the music industry and when it went bad it went real bad! If they hadn't have been killed I think the music game woulda been completely different right now. I think they would still run the game and be the kings of there style still. If they are still listened to every single day when they have been dead for over a decade think what it would be like if they where still alive! I personally think the reason why they got so mad at each other an went at it is because of the agents who egged it on and provoking it to happen! Pac listened go the outside world and bought into the theory of biggies boys killin Pac.

fading careers

More times than not at the end of your career you fade away from peek performance with the rare case of those who walk away from what they are doing when they are on the top. Personally to me I have witnessed it the most in sports due to the fact that I have paid the most attention to sports specifically football, basketball, and baseball due to sports center. Guys like Bo Jackson who where at they're best. Got hurt and came back, still very good but faded by his retirement. Michael Jordan won three championships, went to baseball, came back won 3 more then retired. But came out to make a come back still very good was no where close to what he was in his prime. It happens a lot and to most of us where we fade as our careers at what we do come to a close.

Hair Metal

Oh my goodness... Hair metal set a new standard for me when it come to how back music can be! Haha I know some people enjoy it, but how that's what I don't know! And to think about the way the dressed and tried to come across as girls. That is somebodies child out there making a fool for they're last name I know if I did something that stupid! My father would peel the skin off of my back! And tell me if imma do something like that I better change my last name! And I agree i don't know what makes people think that shit was good! They need a reality check!

Kids On Tv

When kids more specifically teenagers are on television they always look so much older! With the exception of a few! The only one I have seen that is visibly younger looking than her true age is Sarah Hyland who stars on Modern Family! But other than that I feel like most of them look older! Like in a Two a Half Men episode from back in 2004 Megan Fox was in it and at the time she was only 17 years old and my goodness she was gorgeous she already looked like a grown woman in her 20's!! When you watch a movie and it is suppose to take place at like a high school or something all the kids look like they are about 20 years old no matter what grade they are suppose to be in.

Ice JJ Fish

Ice JJ Fish is so bad!! It's crazy that he became famous off of that haha. He is so bad and his song "On The Floor" the girl in that video is so bad!! (As in very good) but he is literally the worst musician I have ever heard in my life! And it's really funny because he thinks he is super good! Yet he is the worst singer ever! And it's funny because he is like famous now he has over 15 million view on that video and is verified on twitter with like 134,000 followers! You should go on YouTube and watch the covers he did of his other songs also!

Back Ground Singers

Listening to all those background singers was phenomenal! It was very cool to get the perspective and view from people who where known and popular but not the main person within the group was very cool to see! They all had amazing voices and if hit it at the right time and done it right they could have all been lead singers due to how good they're voices are in my opinion! I do enjoy listening To Luther Vandross, Al Green, and people like that! And it's cool to hear them sing and now kind of feel like I know who it is and not just a random voice in the background!

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is a super star!!! Even dead he is still talked about all the time! He revolutionized the game!!!! He was able to sing. But not only sing but dance like no one ever before! I love listening to his music! He was able to sing in so many different sounds and styles. It's a shame he had to die! He was bout to make a come back too! When him and the Jackson 5 did they're thing they where killin the game! (As in nobody could mess with them) they where so freakin good! The musical legacy the Jackson family has. Especially Michael of course is ridiculous. And he back ground music he has to go along with his singing just makes his songs that much better! R.I.P. Michael Jackson

SXSW

Going to big music events such as sxsw or ACL is nothing I have anything to do with and didn't plan on doing anything with sxsw this year! But funny story my mom works at a salon in the arboritum called Aziz and they got a call from Snoop Dogg's manager saying snoop wanted a mannicure and a pedicure! So they sent my mom to his hotel. And while she was doing a his nails and talking to him and his manager snoop was like yeah I'm doing a little show tonight your son can bring whom ever he'd like. So that night my friend and I went down to this little venue and snoops manager got us in. Because it was just a little show snoop ended up canceling but ASAP Mob did a show which consist of ASAP Rocky, ASAP Ferg, and ASAP12. They did a good show and yeah was my concert experience! The only down side to it is that it was a indoor/outdoor venue so people could smoke cigarettes so it ricked not only of pop but cigaret!!

Why I like the rappers I like!

I personally am a big fan of rappers that tell stories rather than use a lot of repetition. Because if it is super repetitive it gets old super fast! When it is a story you can enjoy it and listen to it for a longer period of time. The rappers I would say tell good stories are 1. Chance the Rapper 2. Kendrick Lamar 3. Old Kanye 4. J Cole. I enjoy listening to all of them even songs from Kabyles old album that I have heard over and over again because it is just a really good story within great lyrics. Chance The Rapper to me is the best out of all of them because not only does he have great stories about his life, a good beat to go with it, but he uses so many instruments!! I can't play a single instrument but I do enjoy to listen to someone who can play one very well and the way he blends the two of them together as well as a great hip hop best is what makes him the best to me.

Spring Break

Spring Break isn't really a huge thing for me it's more of a relax and recharge week. Pretty much the complete opposite of what most people do. I feel like people either go to the coast or go to South By Southwest. Never have I been to it and I don't plan on going. I love listening to music but I have never been to a love show or concert. I do not enjoy large crowds of people other than when I am playing sports and they are in the stands. It is pretty amazing though how big it is! So many people go to it throughout the time it goes on and the amount of money if brings in is incredible!! I honestly think I have learned more about the festival in this one day of class than I have known in my whole life.

School

Recently school has been pretty damn stressful! Usually I don't let school stress me out because I do things to counteract it like play football, workout, or eat stuff like that. But recently I have gotten to they point where I just got so bought up with it. Sitting in a desk attempting to learn material that I will not use again after that test. And I ask my self why!? Why waste my time learning something I have no desire or ambition to learn! It take the aspect of fun out of learning when you're being forced to learn something you don't enjoy and don't plan on using. I personally believe once you get to a certain level of each subject you should be able to make the decision on to continue pursuing that subject of be able to specify on a subject you enjoy and decide to study.

Know what I'm sayin

Rhythm and Punishment! A lot of the main stream rappers who claim to be real hood and thug ain't shit! They may have grown up in the hood. But now when they rich they are miles and miles away from the hood! The real thug rappers are more of the underground rappers who have been incarcerated for murder, drug dealing, and all kinda of shit. One thing that is very evident is all of them  say "You know what I'm saying" they often say it when they aren't sure exactly how to say what they are thinking! So far it is a great movie! Much more entertaining than any other movie we have watched! It is actually really funny to hear some of their stories!

The Skate Movie

Today in class we watched a 22 Minute video on skating like skate boarding. Not to learn about skateboarding but because Mr. A was part of the sound track. It was a interesting video. You could just have taken if as what you saw but you could get something deeper out of it if you really wanted to. The message I got from it is don't let your surrounding dictate what you do. Just because it's not a picture perfect time, place, or thing doesn't mean you can't make the most out of it. If you sit around and always find the negatives in situations you will never make the most of it. So instead of sitting around complaining go out and make the most of what you have and the opportunity that you have been presented with.

Beyonce!

Shelby went up and played two songs today I didn't know the second one but the first one was by my girl Beyonce! I love Beyonce like she is literally the most perfect woman in the world!!!! I'm pissed Jay Z took her away from me! But ever since that sing I have been in the mood to listen to Beyonce. Hopefully at the end of class we actually get I listen to "drunk in love." She is literally perfect I mean think about it! She is humble, nice personality, smart, talented, and absolutely beautiful!!!! I mean damn I can't believe Jay Z got her she's so beautiful and her music is just as beautiful. I think imma get some more Beyonce songs!

Observations

Today while listening to people throughout the class go up and play they're music it was interesting I see what they played because someone of them you could pretty much assume what it was going to be like and for others it was kinda one of those times where your like wait what!! And some people have a wide range and you can see that though just two songs! You get some people who play hard core vulgar music on one songs and the next would be the complete opposite and nice and relaxing! The funniest thing though was when you would get that person who would go play something and it was the complete opposite of what you expected!!

Christian song

As much crap we all give Christian! Every once and a while he hits it on the head! He played Tyler the Creator, I feel like with Tyler you either like him or you don't. I would say I like Tyler some of his songs are a little to much but I can dig a lot of his songs. The song Christian played is called Bastard. I have that song and used to listen to it quite a bit it's a good song! To some it may be classified as go much but I think it's just a song where he expresses his feeling and what he feels!

Commit to it!!!!

If you are going to do something in life don't half ass it. Give it everything you have!! If you wanna do it why bull shit around and give it half of what you have? When you don't give it your all that is when you fuck up. In life if you don't give it your all going into a marriage your probably not going to last due to that fact that you really aren't all in!! Athletically if you are playing football and you are playing running back and you have ass it through the hole when you get the ball your going to get fucked up! Of you don't commit to making the tackle it's going to hurt. In life if you don't go all in your gonna get hurt! If you commit to it don't try to back out. Because if you commit you will know if it's right!!

Super Bowl Sunday!!

Super Bowl Sunday should be a national Holiday and the Monday after!! This years Super Bowl was super hyped because it was the number 1 defense against the number 1 offense!! The out come of the game was so unexpected! From the first snap of the game Seattle Seahawks DOMINATED!! Holding the number 1 offense to just 8 points!! As a fan I would have loved to see a close game but it was also enjoyable to see a team play so perfect! And this year I would say their was a lot of good commercials but not as many the just BOOM!!! Stood out their were just a lot of good commercials!

Fight for what you love

I believe you should fight for what you love. But  when you say fight for it that doesn't mean physically fight look at what Martin Luther King Jr. He changed the world without using any violence but he fought for what he believed in. Malcome X helped change the world using some violence, but he fought for what he loved. Do I believe war is necessary? No not at all I just don't think people take the time to sit down and truly talk it out! Take the approach Martin took and fight for what you want without violence! Do it for the best! Without Violence the after math of what went on will probably not be as bad.

Fairness of Hall of Fames

To be inducted into a Hall of Fame is a huge deal! Especially to those who really focus on the topic of what it is for. Personally I know quite a bit about the NFL Hall of Fame and quite a bit about the NBA and MLB Hall of Fame. I would have to say that the NFL hall of Fame is very fair, the NBA Hall of Fame is fair. In a personal opinion I would say the MLB Hall of Fame is more twisted and shaky due to the about of performance Enhancing drugs that are used throughout the MLB. But I would say it is still a honor to be inducted into any Hall of Fame because to be inducted you have had to make a huge and memorable impact on the sport or thing you are being inducted for.

What does this class do for me?

Today we spoke about attentiveness and if while using my phone and talking am I truly getting as much out of this class I could? Even though I use my phone and talk to those around me sometimes i still get quite a bit out of this class. Prior to this year and this class I had no knowledge of about 90% of the people we have covered and now going through this class I can actually tell you about some of the musician and what there music was all about. Especially the Beatles I knew who they where but I had never actually listened to them and yeah I'm not very fond of them but I have listened to a lot of them now and have watched movies about them and movies they have just stated on. So I have a much larger knowledge of that. So although I use my phone and talk to people around me while a album is playing or a movie I still hear it and still take note on what I enjoy so I would say I have gotten quite a bit out of this class.

Communication

Nothing annoys me more then people that are too immature to communicate and voice there opinion/problem. Often times with teens and even adults they will have a problem with you or something you did and they won't tell you thu will just act childish and not speak to you. It's like if you actually cared and where mature enough you would just talk to the person about what you have problem with or how you feel about the situation. Communication can fix pretty much anything if you do it in a affective, calm, responsible way. With poor communication comes lots of unknown problem and issues within people's friendship, relationships, marriages, or any other relationship.

Talent

Some will say talent is just a word but I truly believe talent exist. Talent can be interpreted in many different ways. To me when someone says someone is very talented/naturally talented it means they can pick up what they are talented at very quickly and become very good with little practice. For example naturally athletically talented. Growing up I have been told I have a lot of natural talent, which to me it's just the genetics my dad gave me since he is a large African American who was a professional football player. And growing up I spend all my childhood playing sports and doing athletic stuff 24/7 in my driveway, street, and yard. So many would say I practiced to become very good at sports but where I believe talent comes into play is yeah I practiced once I realized I was very good and have a future in it. But due to talent I could try something athletically and be or know I was good with in a day sometimes hours or even minutes. Sports is just in my genetics. How sports is programmed in my head and body how I can just watching something or be told hey do this and I can go do it within a little amount of time is how geniuses can sit in a class and just pick everything up by listening for like 5 minutes.

Zep 2

THAT WAS SO BAD!!!!! It was do bad I got up and left the class for a little bit not gonna lie. I didn't not enjoy that at all I couldn't tell when a song would end and another one would start. The instruments where just so overwhelming I couldn't feel with it and the lyrics where pretty bad! I couldn't even understand them most of the time. I guess that is how rich preppy white kids feel trying to understand rappers haha.

Let It Be

The. Last. Beatles. Album. Was not very long at all I think it was about 35 minutes. I won't say it was their best album but it wasn't the worst by any means. I am not a huge fan of the Beatles but I do respect them for what they have done. I do in fact like the song Let It Be. We sang that song in 6th grade choir and now I know every single word to it. Why I still remember that song I'm not sure but that is my favorite song by the Beatles! Not sure if it's because we sang it on 6th grade or if it's just that good. I think it is actually just that good the back ground music and the lyrics are very good.

Mr. A's Album

That album was amazing!!! Not going to lie just looking at you I would never imagine you would have a voice like that! But your voice was awesome! It was so perfectly pitched and the lyrics where so deep! I truly enjoyed listening to that album. I truly feel if you get your album put up on iTunes it would have quite a bit of success. You should have a party with all of your music buddies and invite people y'all know when you release your album and have copies while playing one and I bet you would sell a lot of albums! Because I feel like your album would be well liked by a wide range of people who like different types of music because your album is just that neutral type that if you appreciate music you will like it.
